At Boat Chicago Charters, we prioritize guest comfort and enjoyment. Our charters accommodate a maximum of 10 people to ensure an intimate and manageable experience, allowing ample space for relaxation, socializing, and enjoying Chicago's skyline.
Is there a cooler on the yacht?
Absolutely! We've got you covered with a cooler on board to ensure your drinks and snacks stay perfectly chilled throughout your charter. Additionally, our cabin is equipped with a refrigerator to provide even more storage space for your refreshments. You and your guests can relax knowing that your favorite beverages and treats will be kept cool and ready to enjoy while you're out on the water with us.
How do I find a captain?
To further streamline your experience, once your trip is booked with Boat Chicago Charters, we will furnish you with a list of qualified captains who are intimately familiar with our yacht. These captains are pre-approved and hold USCG licenses, ensuring that they possess the expertise to operate the vessel safely and efficiently.
While we recommend our suggested captains to optimize your experience, we also welcome the option for you to bring your own captain. For those who choose to bring their captain, we require a minimum level of proficiency equivalent to a MMC 100-ton master. Additionally, we kindly request that you provide the qualifications of your captain in advance for approval by the owner.
At Boat Chicago Charters, we are committed to providing both convenience and safety for our guests.
How much does a captain cost?
USCG Captain's typically command $100-120 per hour before gratuity. Payment & gratuity will be made directly to your hired Captain, not through Boat Chicago Charters.
Can I bring alcohol and food?
Absolutely! We encourage our guests to bring their favorite drinks and snacks aboard for their trip. Whether you have a preferred selection of beverages or snacks, we want you to feel comfortable and satisfied during your charter experience. Just ensure that any alcoholic beverages are consumed responsibly and that all guests are of legal drinking age. We want your journey with Boat Chicago Charters to be as enjoyable and personalized as possible.
Do you allow raft-ups with other yachts?
No, safety is our top priority at Boat Chicago Charters, and we take the condition of our vessels very seriously. We wouldn't want to put anyone at risk or compromise the integrity of our vessel.
What if it rains?
Weather Policy
At Boat Chicago Charters, we are committed to providing our guests with safe and enjoyable sailing experiences. Please note that our charters sail rain or shine, in warm or cool weather. However, the safety of our guests and crew is our top priority, and we take weather conditions very seriously.
For the safety and comfort of all onboard, our captain will carefully consider any approaching storms on the day of the trip at the dock. We understand that weather predictions can change, and therefore, we do not cancel trips ahead of time based on forecasts.
It's important to emphasize that we take every necessary safety precaution, and weather conditions can change rapidly. As a result, the final decision regarding the trip will be made at the dock on the day of the excursion. We appreciate your understanding that no exceptions can be made to this policy.
What is the cancellation policy?
Free cancellations until 30 days before the booking start time.
50% refund for cancellations between 15-30 days before the booking start time.
Cancellations within 14 days of the booking start time are non-refundable.
We will monitor weather conditions and determine go or no go 1 to 3 hours before charter. We reserve the right to cancel any trip due to the following conditions: Sustained winds over 25 mph, Small craft advisory issued, Waves over 3 feet. Thunderstorms at the time of charter. Heavy rain. Fog with less than 1.5 miles visibility. Mechanical breakdown. Prior to boarding if any of these conditions are met, we will reschedule the trip for another time that day or a different day, if this is not possible the customer will be offered a refund. After Boarding, if for safety reasons the trip must be cut short, refunds will be prorated based on the amount of trip not completed at the time of cancellation with an exception. The captain at their own discretion can terminate any cruise due to any passenger’s unlawful, unruly, dangerous, and unsafe behavior without any consideration of the trip remaining and no refunds will be granted. We assume no liability for cancellations due to the above conditions. We will sail in any temperature and light rain or mist so please dress accordingly.
